Volunteer Opportunities
At Rio Linda Little League, we are proud to be an all-volunteer organization. To ensure we continue providing the best experience for our players, we ask that every family contributes a minimum of six (6) hours of volunteer time per player during the baseball/softball season. Your volunteer efforts play a crucial role in keeping our registration fees as low as possible, ensuring that the kids in our community have access to affordable sports programs.
Anyone can represent your player for volunteer hours including grandparents, aunts, uncles, older cousins and siblings (16 years or older). There are plenty of ways to get involved such as field days, helping with practices, pre-game field prep, managing or coaching a team, serving as a team parent, scorekeeping, staffing the snack bar and more!
For those who prefer to buy out of their volunteer commitment, we offer the option at a cost of $125 per player. There is no family max for participation hours or buyout fees. Families who do not complete their volunteer hours by the end of the regular season will be charged this $125 fee to help cover the cost of hiring extra support for our facilities.
When working in direct contact with children, all volunteers aged 18 years or older must submit a background check. Please plan ahead as processing can take up to 2 weeks. To register for volunteer opportunities and initiate your background check click here.
For questions regarding background checks, please contact our Safety Officer, AJ O'brien @ [email protected]
If you have any questions about volunteer opportunities, please contact our Volunteer Coordinator, Amanda Smith @ [email protected]
Throughout the season, we will send out emails with volunteer opportunities. You can also stay updated by following Rio Linda Little League on Facebook.
Thank you for your support in making Rio Linda Little League a positive and affordable experience for everyone in the community!
